Danson Park

When I took this photo I was wandering around Danson Park for the first time. I was reading L. P. Hartley’s The Go-Between and there was something about the serendipity of walking through the grounds of this 18th Century mansion and the fading aristocratic society depicted in the novel that captured both my emotion and imagination.

The photo was taken on my HTC mobile camera. It was also one of the first photos that I experimented with, using Photoshop layers to crudely bring out the oak tree in foreground (for example) before I learnt about the highlight and shadow tool.
